My work focuses on conservation and development in Galapagos. I work on a range of projects including considering post-Covid economic recovery options in the archipelago, aiding the aim of the local government
to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, working to establish a new mechanism of translating science into policy and helping to develop a new Hub for Sustainability, Innovation and Resilience in Galapagos. In addition to these, I am also building an app and a software program to enable easy identification of birds by their songs and calls across the islands and considering methods of control for an introduced bird species, the smooth-billed ani. I am on a 3-year post doc funded by the Evolution Education Trust and work in collaboration with the Charles Darwin Research Station, Galapagos National Park Directorate and the Galapagos Conservation Trust.
