I am a Senior teaching associate in Planning, growth and urban regeneration in the department of Land Economy. My research focuses on ways to reconcile planning practices and local economic development for more inclusive and resilient regeneration strategies. Before joining Land Economy, I have extensively lectured and led research between University College London (UCL) where I have recently been appointed honorary lecturer (Bartlett School of Planning) and London South Bank University. My current research projects look at planning the post-COVID city, the future of office spaces, coastal town regeneration, and urban densification processes. I hold a PhD in Planning from the Bartlett School of Planning (UCL) where I have investigated the new geography of innovation in Italy, looking at the location, governance and socio-economic dynamics of the new workspaces and entrepreneurial ecosystems. I was trained as a chartered engineer and surveyor between Rome and Paris. Before becoming an academic, I have worked as a practitioner in international consultancies across Italy, France and the UK with expertise in the fields of real estate, planning and economic development. I continue being active in consultancy work for the European Commission, and in influencing policy making collaborating with organisations like JustSpace and Centre for London. I have published my work on a number of international journals, and I sit in various editorial boards.
